Me: Maddie, are you drawing people?
Mads: Yes!
Me: How exciting, your first people! Tell me about this one…I see the eyes…
Mads: It’s daddy. Those are his eyes.
Me: Wonderful! And these here, are they legs…and arms…?
Mads: Those are the hooves. I’m drawing my first person!
so happy to see you are giving her blank sheets of paper to draw instead of just using coloring books though those are fun too!! Date: Wed, 5 Feb 2014 21:46:28 +0000 To: quiltandtea@live.com
Oh yes, we go through a lot of paper…usually she is cutting it up into tiny pieces though. Her drawings of people were unprompted–basic, but had the elements! I think Joseph was probably a year older when he first made a person. I bought a roll of white butcher paper on Amazon…900 feet! We roll it out to make banners, roads…use it as gift wrap, trace bodies to draw on clothes… you name it.
