Joseph was born in February 2008. When I was little, my mom jotted down my cute toddler quips in a blue spiral notebook with a picture of Raggedy Ann glued to the front. She documented all firsts, the order in which each tooth came in, and each and every other development in detail. I tried. It turned out not to be quite so clear to me what constituted a first word, or counted as a first step, or how in the world my mother was able to count my teeth, much less tell which came in first. I had 3 notebooks and 1 color-coded Excel spreadsheet started (turns out there is no pattern to an infant’s eat/sleep/poop schedule). I listed and categorized, reordered and appended. Then, one day, I gave up. Now, armed instead with an iPhone, I attempt to deliver the same level of archival dedication, but will just stick to the cute and wise things Joseph says…things that I might call up to tell the grandparents about to give them a chuckle over dinner. Maybe one day I will print this blog out and bind it in a cute notebook.
“The Many Faces of Joseph” …not corresponding with the image, these include: happy, confused, mean face, stink eye, thinking, sad, serious, sleeping (complete with snoring), flirty eyes and surprised. Silly was recently added to the show and we are working on shy/bashful.
Very cute Rach…Hollywood here you come!!!
